PHOTOS - Labor Day Protest: Columbia, SC

“Labor Day is a wonderful day to commemorate what it's really all about. We wouldn't have it, if we didn't have our labor unions fighting for our right to have weekends and holidays,” said Audrey Auen, after marching in protest on Monday in Columbia, South Carolina, “We need to make sure that our human rights are not tied to our status of employment.”

Hundreds of demonstrators rallied in the state capital during a protest where the main message, workers against billionaires and Donald Trump, could be seen on the protestors’ signs during the national day of action. One of 1000+ events by a organized by coalition of labor and advocacy groups, the Columbia protest included a march to the post office on Assembly St., escorted by law enforcement.
