About Last Night: Double Cheeked Up
“Double Cheeked Up,” according to Urban Dictionary, is “used to describe someone with a big ass butt.” Double Cheeked Up is also a loud rock band from the borderlands of Georgia and South Carolina. On Saturday night they performed with Laid Out, Ritual Killer, God Glitch at New Brookland Tavern in Columbia, SC.
The band, who’ve released three full-lengths in the last year and half, featuring 90 second songs like “Two Flush Aint Enough,” “Eternal Fart,” and “Bazooka Bun Bunz,” ended their show when the singer gashed his forehead in the middle of their set.
Here are some scenes from the evening. Many songs by Double Cheeked Up feature guest vocals — resulting in a rotating cast of singers who emerge from and then return to the crowd.
The term of “Double Cheeked Up,” originates from a video clip with comedian Brian “Big Brody” Pumper being asked about a curvy individual. Pumper responded, “Double cheeked up on a Thursday afternoon, hella ass, the sun still out.”
