ASSIGNMENT TITLE: EARTH DAY
Earth Day is April 22. You can choose one of two scenarios for this assignment.
Pretend your assignment is actually due on April 20 and it will publish on April 22. Find a feature photo story that reflects how people are caring for the planet in your area. Or how its being abused. Either way, pretend the photos appear in a special section in the newspaper about Earth Day.
The second, your assignment is to tell a story about how someone or a group is observing Earth Day and pretend it’s due on at 5pm on April 22.
Post 2-5 photos to our Google classroom on assignment #5 with a two sentence caption, following guardrails for caption writing. Caption writing may amount to 60% of your score on this assignment. For the caption writing, we want names of people unless it is a group larger than five. And we need location and date.
We are looking for a human element in this assignment. And while we don’t need people in all the photos, they should be an obvious presence. It’s about the interaction between humans and the earth.
Put your caption in the comments or attach as an additional file. If you’ve attached a caption using metadata, let me know so I can look for it there.
