Party at Thomas Cooper Library

They swarmed the Thomas Cooper Library fountain pool from every direction. Some of the first to arrive were those that ran from the Russell House, where students gathered in the theatre to watch South Carolina beat Connecticut for the 2022 women’s basketball national championship.

They celebrated with belly-flops, fireworks, and dance parties. At the steps near Greene St. cheerleaders and members of the marching band, wearing the clothes they were in while watching the game in their dorms, performed spontaneous routines. At least one was still in their bedroom slippers.

It’s great to be a Gamecock.
