Assignment Three (Due Dec 20)
TBA
ASSIGNMENT TITLE: HOLIDAY PARADES!
Tis is the season for holiday parades.
I love photographing parades and they are great ways to sharpen our skills and show our communities sharing good times. Most holiday parades take place in the first two weeks of December, so do your planning now.
UPDATED INSTRUCTIONS!!!
Post 1 photo to our Google classroom on assignment #3 with a two sentence caption, following guardrails for caption writing. Caption writing may amount to 60% of your score on this assignment. For the caption writing, we want names of people unless it is a group larger than five. And we need location and date. Photographing a parade, it may be difficult to get names, so we will have some grace here.
Tips for photographing parades:
Arrive early, during the parade lineup and way before the start time. You may find your best photo before the parade even starts. And if not, you’ll have some recon under your belt.
Put your caption in the comments or attach as an additional file. If you’ve attached a caption using metadata, let me know so I can look for it there.
To access the classroom platform for assignments, you’ll need to enroll in the free online photojournalism course. Just sign up for my mailing list for new assignments and course updates.
