Does North Carolina Have Fall Foliage?

Yes, North Carolina has a great fall foliage season centered on the early arrival of color at the highest elevations on the East Coast of the United States. Asheville is the most popular center of population where folks overnight on fall foliage weekend trips. The Blue Ridge Parkway provides a perfect route and the entire length in the state is expected to reopen for the first time since Hurricane Helene by the 2026 fall season.

The Linn Cove Viaduct was reopened in early October.
